Formerly, “Peruvian Ballet Representative to the World,” Talía represented Peru in the most prestigious ballet competitions around the globe. She was born in Lima, Peru to a family of artists, writers, journalists and political figures. Talía started dancing at the age of three, becoming the youngest Soloist to join the National Ballet of Peru at age 14. In 1992, The Peruvian Press awarded Talía with the “Best Dancer of the Year Award.
Talía decided to continue her studies at the school of her dreams, School of the American Ballet. After relocating to New York City, she was able to expand her dance abilities by training in other forms of dance including, Contemporary, Modern, Ballroom & Latin, Jazz, among others. Talía also trained in acting during this time and graduated from the William Esper Studio.

Today Talía, is the face of hundreds of commercials and print campaigns in the U.S. and abroad, for companies such as: American Express, American Airlines, AOL, British Airways, Coca Cola, Cooking Light Magazine, Discovery Channel, Dunkin Donuts, Expedia, Goldschlager, Google, Latina Magazine, Nintendo, Wella and Yahoo, to name a few.

As a spokesperson and guest artist, she has been featured on NBC’s The Today Show with Tiki Barber, Patrick Swayze, Marc Anthony, Pitbull, The New York Times with Antonio Sabato Jr., ABC’s Good Morning America, CBS’s Evening News, Eyewitness News, Univision, Telemundo and the latest Dr. Pepper commercial featuring Romeo Santos.

She starred in ¨Tango Finish¨ on Broadway with her dance partner Lee Van Bradley, “Falling in Rhythm,” “Summer of Sam,” and was the Choreographer for the independent film “Angela,” Cablevision, and the Georgia Natural Gas TV commercial.

As an instructor she has been invited to teach at Lincoln Center, Columbia University, Brooklyn Museum of Art, The National Arts Club, NYU, Joffrey Ballet School and Broadway Dance Center to name a few.
For over 14 years she successfully managed dance studios and trained dance instructors and staff with her hip, savvy approach to the dance business at some of the largest dance studios in NYC.

In December 2011, Talía returned to the stages of her home country after a 16 year international career, dancing a “ Tribute to Yma Sumac.” TV Channel 9 named her “Top 5 best and most versatile dancers in the world.”

Her biographical profile has been included in: Who’s Who Among American Women, Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the World 1997-2014.  Talia was the bilingual host of Carnival in Rio de Janeiro ’13 for En la Escena & ABC’s Live Well. In September ’14 she launched her own dance shoe design “Talia” by Burju. She is currently Hosting Vida Sana for Yahoo Mujer en Espanol.

She is the producer of Latin Mondays at Taj, Sunset Salsa with Talia, Bryant Park’s Dance Party, Salsa 34 and the new Salsa at Plaza 33.  Talía is also a member of The International Dance Council, Board Director of Alegria NY-Lima, Hope Through Art for undeserved children and The Unspoken Smiles Foundation helping children at risk help develop healthy habits for life.
